Christmas is my favorite holiday! I love being surrounded by family and friends and having so many fun activities going on. This year, though, a stomach bug came to visit our family. Somehow Jeff and I didn't catch this nasty virus, but all four of our boys did. By Christmas, we were pretty much all done with the yuck, but by that point we had passed it on to Grammy and Poppaw and half of my sister's family. We finally were able to celebrate the day after Christmas since no one was puking still, though my brother's family smartly decided to celebrate with us a couple of weeks later. It was my first time to have such a quiet, immediate family Christmas, but we had a great time in spite of the change of plans.
The boys each painted a Christmas treefor our centerpiece.
Grammy bravely came and loved on the boys while the sickness was still rampant. Poor thing ended up getting it, too. Sorry, Grammy.
We made sugar cookies for Santa. The boys helped decorate them.
The finished product.
Maxine?
Jack bought us all gifts from the Jingle Bell store at school. It was torture waiting to give them to us, but we finally opened them on Christmas Eve. Each gift was so thoughtful and perfect for each one of us. I love that he delighted so much in giving to others.
Daddy getting his gift.
I love when he peeks around the boys at me with this look. It's the "I adore our fun boys" look.
Waiting for Santa....
He came! Here is Easton's loot.
Jack's pile.
Max and Isaac's gifts.
Notice how our Christmas tree is almost bare of decorations on the bottom half. There is a 3-letter reason for that.
Waiting to attack their present piles from Santa on Christmas morning.
Jack loved his new bike!
Easton had been dying to get a pogo stick for months and was thrilled to find this!
And Isaac is happy with just about anything.
Santa loved the cookies the boys made for him!
Now. What to do the rest of Christmas Day when you have no plans? First up, play with all the new toys. Second, jump on the snowy trampoline.
Well, at least that got some energy out!
The best gifts of all!
Now time to sled down the icy drainage area.
Max and I went for a walk to go check on the boys' sledding fun.
Melt me.
Luckily, we found some steak and potatoes and made a "gourmet" Christmas dinner.
Steak's a finger food, right? At least it is staying down now.
The day after Christmas! Finally seeing people!

Jack made sure that no present was left behind.
These two are trouble.
He loves his Poppaw. So appropriate that he is Poppaw's namesake.
Merry Christmas!
